I have been fascinated with the human figure, for as long as I can remember. It first manifested itself through drawings, mostly from my imagination, although inspired by comic books. My childhood passion for art wasn’t cultivated, as it suffered from the lack of support, direction, and the impatience of youth.
As I matured, my interests shifted. I discovered science and a new way to delve into my interest in the human form. Empowered by discipline and persistence, I committed myself to decades of rigorous scientific study, which culminated in a degree as a cardiologist. In 2012, after practicing medicine for many years, my inner artist once again demanded attention, resulting in leaving my full time practice.
To honor my artist, I sought out atelier training in various schools around the globe, focusing on drawing and, for the first time, painting. Given the proper dedication of time and attention, my passion for the representation of the human form, was fully reignited and has since become the driving force for my life.
Today, I create images in a representational realistic style, which include still-lives, portraits, landscapes and most importantly, the human form. I work in my studio in Denver, Colorado. My current paintings are executed using classical and contemporary techniques. They explore themes that are inspired by world events and Jungian psychology, to tell the stories of our time.
